Norris to Celebrate Volunteerism with Local Red Cross
NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tennessee Senate Republican Leader Mark Norris (R-Collierville) will be the keynote speaker at the Dyer County Red Cross chapter’s 2008 Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Monday, August 25, at 6:30. The dinner will be held at Lupo’s Italian Restaurant.
Senator Norris, whose mother served as a volunteer Red Cross nurse during World War II and for 50 years thereafter, is no stranger to the organization or its Dyer County program. He attended and spoke at April’s Red Cross fundraiser in downtown Dyersburg.
Of the invitation, Norris commented, “Naturally, I have a special bond to the Red Cross, but I am also very impressed by the level of activity we see out of the Dyer County chapter. They are a fine example to all of us. It’s going to be fun to share an evening with some genuine Tennessee volunteers.”
Senator Norris represents the West TN Counties of Dyer, Lauderdale, Tipton, and Shelby.
