NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Lobbyist registrations with the Tennessee Ethics Commission will be based on the calendar year instead of the current filing year that begins on October 1st under a bill signed today by Governor Bredesen.
The new filing deadlines will apply beginning next January.
The measure also eliminates a requirement that lobbyists personally deliver a hard copy of the ethics manual to their employer. They will now be able to download the manual from the Ethics Commission's Web site.
The bill was sponsored by House Majority Leader Gary Odom of Nashville and Senate Republican Leader Mark Norris of Collierville.
