Tennessee Public Transportation Association has named Sen. Mark Norris, R-Collierville, as its legislator of the year. Norris, chairman the Senate Transportation and Safety Committee, led efforts to maintain funding for projects up for cuts in the Senate this year.

TPTA works to advance the cause of public transportation across the state. Its 28 members combined carry 31 million passengers a year, operate 1,700 vehicles and employ 2,500 people across the state.
